Not too much has been happening at the house lately between the dog and the holiday season. The touch lamp that we were using to keep the dining area lit finally died so we decided to just buy a real light for above the dining table.
Before
Ho-hum dining table with no overhead light:
After
Bathing the dining table in soft but sparkly light:
An up close look at the Capiz shells:
For those keeping track, this light is from West Elm. Although I had recently sworn off West Elm because of a delivery debacle, they had given me a $50 gift certificate to make up for it. This light was delivered with no issues so I am cautiously optimistic that my love affair with West Elm can resume!
Now we just need to put something on the walls. Anyone know a place where I can get some art work in DC? I was thinking about checking out Eastern Market.
Random Notes
A couple other things to note. The hole in the ceiling is from a bathroom leak we had in December. We also got a really cheap blue rug from Home Depot. It’s kind of like a “training rug” for Thambi. We want to see how much he destroys it before we invest in a real rug. It’s a pretty decent quality given that it is only $20!
That’s it for now but hoping to do some bigger updates in 2016 so stay tuned!
