Back in December of 2016, we began the Wardrobe project. You can read about that here. Well it only took us a year to complete part 2. And by “us”, I mean Michael, because I didn’t lift a finger for Part 2.
A reminder of what Part 1 looked like when completed:

Yikes, so apparently I posted only once in all of 2017. I honestly don’t know how that happened but 2017 just flew by! So today I will share some updates we did to the patio back in…July. It only took me 6 months to put them up on the interwebs for all of you to see.
Back in August of 2016, our new patio fence was installed. You can read about that here. It was more intimate, but otherwise barren, as shown here:

In a few years, once we do the big kitchen/basement reno, we plan on doing a fancier patio update but for the time being, we just wanted to make it a bit more inviting with little cost & effort.
More after the jumpHello friends! I know it has been a terribly long time, over 6 months, since I last posted. I wish I had some sort of excuse, but alas, it was just laziness. I told Mike that we weren’t allowed to start any other house projects until we finished the master bedroom makeover because it was an eyesore. But finishing it meant painting and painting meant procrastination and thus, here we are.
Then an opportunity arose! A summer deluge postponed a planned weekend at the Bay, late in the week. With nothing to do and a torrential downpour outside, painting suddenly seemed like a relatively pleasant weekend activity.
As you can see, our bedroom furniture followed no coherent style. It was mainly composed of Mike’s dark, brooding bachelor furniture and a piece or two from my old set. I should say that I helped pick out Mike’s bedspread years ago. But it was time for a change.

As I mentioned previously, when we bought the house there were no closets. Our renovation this year gave us two closets: one in the hallway and one in the bathroom but our bedroom was still sorely lacking. Since we moved in, we have been using a rolling hanging rod but Mike likes to hang everything including t-shirts. The small hanging rod we shared didn’t have enough room for his t-shirts and that was slowing tearing apart his sartorial soul. Poor Mike, poor t-shirts.
Two years was long enough. It was time to build a wardrobe!
Before, our bedroom had a dizzying array of clothing organizers. Yuck:

Hello, fine people. It’s been awhile since our last update but we have been busy, busy, busy over here at the Red Rowhouse. Mike and I went on a vacation. Then I went on a second vacation with some lady friends. And in between, here and there, we have been updating various things.
When we commissioned Long Fence back in February for the patio fence, we also wanted them to fix our borky fence in the front yard. Perhaps you never noticed but one of these things is not like the others:
